The End of An Era

I’ve been with Pebbles design team since they began a team back in 2009.  I tried out on a whim because I liked their new release and much to my surprise I got an email that I was accepted onto the team!  I seriously had to pinch myself several times because it was my first major design team gig and I simply couldn’t believe it.  I have been very fortunate to stay with the team for 4 years after that.  Unfortunately as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.

I got the email last week that I would not be returning as a design team member this year.  I’m not going to lie – it stung a bit reading that email although I felt in my gut it was coming.  I’m also not going to try to spin this as if I didn’t want to be on the team or I didn’t even try out because neither of which are true.  Pebbles has been my home for 4 years and I enjoyed that home very much.

With that news though it will give me some time to sit back and evaluate scrapping things on my end and get some much needed overhaul and organization in my scrap corner.

I busted out my Pebbles goodies one more time to show my gratitude for the opportunity given to  me for so long.  Some of my most favorite layouts and projects were completed using Pebbles products.

I’ve seen lots of changes at Pebbles in 4 short years.  They went from a successful “mom and pop” manufacturing company to being under the American Crafts umbrella.  At the time we didn’t know what this meant, but it ended up being such a great team up of companies and some great lines and designs have come from that union.

They are continuing to churn out great designs and I will still be getting my hands on some of the new summer goodies, only this time via my wallet instead of a design team box.  I used one of my all time favorite lines for this 2 page layout:  Seen and Noted.  I love everything about this line, particularly the colors and am so sad it’s nearly gone now.

Design teams are a tricky thing.  I’ve learned over the years that it’s important to really love the product and company to make a match up work.  I’ve been in situations that the match up does not work and those are always learning lessons when moving forward.  Pebbles worked for me, or rather, it never felt like work making projects for them.  I have been blessed with many opportunities and I’m always grateful for them all.  I still work with 2 amazing teams of women that I love and hope to stay on with for a while longer!

So now I pick my scrappy self up and after some clean up I’ll be looking for that next open door that has my name on it!  New opportunities are exciting and I look forward to what is waiting for me.

Now comes the good part for anyone who has made it all the way to the end of this melodramatic post!  I still have lots of great Pebbles goodies in my stash.  New mid season release, winter release and if you’re into some older lines I have those too!  I’ll be putting a couple of boxes together for a giveaway with random new and not so new Pebbles items.  Just leave a comment here telling me your favorite Pebbles line and I’ll pick  2 winners on Friday.  Sorry, I can only send to US addresses at this time due to cost.  Although I’m housed in Japan, we still only use the US postal system for mailing.

Thank you all for support and coming here to read my blog.  I really do appreciate it!
